| JANUARY 23, 2007 ~ Happy New Year all! (does anyone still read this, considering Roxane's long hiatus?) Nevertheless, I shall not break tradition and I will recap this past year and all it's wonderful events. This past year was an amazing one, both professionally and personally for Roxane. I would like to extend my congratulations to her (publically) for all her many accomplishments! :) For 3 months in 2006, we were lucky enough to see Roxane in a featured role on CBS' "As the World Turns." Her character, Chardonnay, and her performance were the talk of the ATWT message boards. This is something I was thrilled to see! I hope more TV (and movie) execs zero in on her many wonderful abilities and offer her more roles! After some much deserved time off, Roxane appeared on Law & Order: SVU, in the episode titled "Uncle." She guest starred with legendary funny man, Jerry Lewis and although Roxane had no scenes directly with him, she said it was a wonderful experience to be a part of. At the moment, Roxane is still on hiatus. For those of you who have emailed me and asked how she's doing.... she is wonderful. Enjoying life and family; really relaxing and taking it all in. She is happy and healthy and hopefully, I will have some new pictures to share soon! For me, 2006 was a crazy one. Moving, changing jobs and then moving again, it has really been non-stop. When do I get my vacation? haha I hope you are all well and happy and enjoying the new year. I know it's become quite cold in the recent few weeks, but just think -- spring is right around the corner! Stay bundled up and try to enjoy the rest of the winter.... I know I am personally counting down to the warmer days to come! AUGUST 3, 2006 ~ Long time no update! Clearly, I fail these days. Actually, 'the day job' has kept me busy as ever, especially in these (now) sweltering summer months. As I'm sure you've all seen from the main page, Roxane is currently on a long (and very much deserved!) hiatus. She definitely had the right idea getting out of NYC for the summer and frankly not a moment too soon! Can you all believe this heat? After a very successful stint as sultry stripper, Chardonnay on CBS' "As The World Turns" Roxane returned to Chicago for one week only in the role of June. While not being in a show, Rox also spent a length of time teaching 'master classes' (to much praise from her students!). And of course, not to be off the screen for too long, Roxane can be seen in the 4th episode of the new season of Law and Order: SVU. When I know the exact air date I will be sure to post it! Try and keep cool and enjoy the rest of your summer.... I know I will do the same! :) FEBRUARY 7, 2006 ~ I've just added several screen caps of Roxane on today's episode "As The World Turns." To view, please check the Production Photos gallery. For those of you in the tri-state area, "As The World Turns" airs on CBS (channel 2), from 2pm - 3pm. Rest assured, you haven't seen the last of sexy stripper, Chardonay, so check back often for more episode air dates! JANUARY 22, 2006 ~ Congratulations to Roxane on her feature role on the CBS soap opera "As The World Turns." Roxane will be appearing in a number of episodes so be sure to check back for updates and definitely check your local listings! The air dates I have as of now are February 6, 7, 10 and 20..... so don't forget to set those VCRs and TiVos!!! JANUARY 12, 2006 ~ A new guestbook has ben added and the old guestbook has been archived. Archives can still be viewed via the link on the main page. My test entry in the new guestbook is lonely, so be sure to sign and leave some love for Roxane! JANUARY 10, 2006 ~ Happy New Year! What a year 2005 was for everyone!! Roxane played her final performance in Chicago the Musical to much acclaim on March 13, 2005. It was truly the end of an era! After a month of much needed rest and relaxation, Roxane headed west to join the company of the Mambo Kings, which unfortunately, ended it's Broadway run before it even began. In late December 2005, Roxane and I dipped back into the press agent pool and began doing the press for a sensational one man show, Manigma. A wonderfully diverse show, Michael Aronov brings each and every one of his 6 characters to life. You are sure to leave the theatre finding a little bit of yourself within each character. Manigma is currently running through January 28, 2006 at the 78th Street Theatre Lab. It's definitely not to be missed! For more information on Manigma, please email me: heathermsmith1@gmail.com I'm still threatening to overhaul the website..... I promise it'll be done soon!! There are some very exciting projects on the horizon for Roxane, so be sure to check back often for updates! As always, your mail and contributions is appreciated, so keep it coming! JULY 4, 2005 ~ It saddens me to announce that the Broadway run of The Mambo Kings has been cancelled. Please be sure to check back often for details on Roxane's future projects, or join our mailing list by sending an email to: updates@roxanecarrasco.com The site will be undergoing a huge makeover in the coming months, so please bear with me if things are slightly out of order. The new and improved Roxane Carrasco Website will be up and running soon. FEBRUARY 8, 2005 ~ Roxane will be playing Velma this coming Monday, February 14th (Valentine's Day) for one show only. This will most likely be her final time playing Velma so if you're dying to see her, or dying to see her again this is your chance! JANUARY 17, 2005 ~ Happy New Year, everyone! Long time no update and I apologize a thousand times over! It's that time of year again... yes, that's right, it's time for a year in review. It's been a rollercoaster and I'm pleased to start this update off with some amazing news. As per a conversation with Roxane this evening, she will play her final performance in the Broadway company of CHICAGO on March 13, 2005. Rox will be joining the cast of the much anticipated new show, The Mambo Kings on April 11, 2005. I'm so very proud of her! Congratulations, Rox! In 2004 we were pleased to welcome Tracy back to the company twice and to phenomenal critical acclaim. It's always a joy and pleasure to see Tracy and Roxane onstage together. Roxane also had the privelige of sharing the stage with the staggeringly talented (and handsome!) Wayne Brady this year... and quite frankly, which one of you wouldn't have killed to be in her shoes? haha! Wayne was definitely one of the most amazing 'names' I have seen come into the company in a long time. In November, we mourned the loss of a Broadway great; Chicago veteran, Gregory Mitchell. After suffering a heart attack onstage at the Kennedy Center during a performance of Forbidden Christmas, or the Doctor and the Patient, on November 11th, Greg passed away in a DC hospital a week later. Greg was the kind of man who made an impact on every person he met... one of the most sweet, caring, talented and incredibly suave men I have ever had the good luck of knowing. He'll be greatly missed by many. May he be dancing in heaven forever. On a lighter note, this lovely website was the receipient of two more web awards in 2004: The 2004/2005 Golden Web Award and the 2004 Bronze World Wide Web Award. Here's to another amazing year for everyone! And don't forget to catch Roxane in Chicago at least one more time before March 13th! AUGUST 26, 2004 ~ I have just created/added a message board to the website... be sure to join and start posting! :) http://roxanecarrasco.proboards3.com/index.cgi AUGUST 12, 2004 ~ I have just received word that The Official Roxane Carrasco Website is the recipient of the Bronze 2004 World Wide Web Award! Congratulations and thanks to everyone who helped make this website so popular.... and a success! AUGUST 8, 2004 ~ Congratulations to Rox for a fabulous 'mini-run' as Velma. I have heard nothing but the best from those who attended a performance yesterday or Friday. I attended Friday's show and was blown away. It's always a pleasure to see Rox empower the role of Velma. The applause was deafening, and the praise of her performance was flowing around me at intermission. Brava Rox! MAY 11, 2004 ~ The time has come to yet again welcome Tracy Shayne back to the Broadway company of Chicago. Tracy will take the stage as Jazz Murderess Roxie Hart for one week only: June 13 - 21, 2004. Congratulations are also in order for our good friend Bianca Marroquin who received the Helen Hayes award last night for her potrayal of Roxie Hart in the touring company of Chicago. Congrats and best of luck Bianca! It was a well deserved award and we're SO proud of you! JANUARY 8, 2004 ~ Wow, shame on me for not updating more often... go on, someone slap me with a ruler ;) Happy New Year to one and all. I hope everyone had a great holiday season, saw some GREAT shows (*cough*CHICAGOandWSS*cough*) with some incredible talent (*cough*ROXANE*cough*) and was able to relax, sit back and reflect on the year. It's been a wonderful year for myself, Roxane and for the website. I have to take a moment to thank the fans for all your support and emails and for always visiting the site. Thank you for your enthusiasm; We definitely appreciate it. It's always a joy to open your email inbox and see it flooded with praise and contributions. For Roxane, 2003 was a year allowing her to show her versatility as an actress. From getting the opportunity to take the stage in Chicago opposite one of her best friends, Ms. Tracy Shayne (with major acclaim!), to playing Anita in West Side Story at Northshore Music Theatre, Roxane's perfomances have only gotten more and more thrilling. I know that I am, along with many other friends, fans and family members, incredibly proud of all her accomplishments! For me, it was a year to broaden my horizions not only as a webdesigner, but as an actress and as a Broadway enthusiast. In March, this website was awarded the 2003-2004 Golden Web Award for Webdesign -- which I am STILL beaming about. And in June I began writing for Broadwayworld.com, with of course, my first interview being with Ms Deidre Goodwin. I saw former Mama, Michele Pawk, win the Tony award and for a week in June, I practically lived at the Ambassador while Roxane and Tracy played Velma and Roxie. It has been a good year for us all. Thank you again to everyone -- may 2004 be even better than 2003 was for all of us... .and as always, keep those contributions coming! New pictures will be posted soon so keep on the lookout. And a friendly reminder to all -- please don't lift any images from this website. Those which are not provided by myself or Roxane are used with express permission. If you find yourself so inclined to need a picture off the website, please email me first and bring this to my attention -- heather@roxanecarrasco.com -- Thank you soooo much!!! |
